Presidential candidate Donald Trump at the moment an assassin's bullet hit his ear. |
I was ready to give the Donald a try.
I really was. No, not because I like him. I don't like him.
No, not because Biden has dementia. Trump also has dementia. He's not as far gone as Biden, but another year from now and he probably will be.
I like people with dementia. People are generally bad news, and as they become increasingly senile, they usually become less active, and less able to do stupid things, and less able to cause stupid things to happen.
Sure, they wander off, but we usually find them again.
A benign America would be a country where most people stayed home, and didn't do much of anything.
I was going to give Trump a try because he's less of a war monger than Biden.
Biden, senile or no (yes!), has disqualified himself from further consideration because of his mindless and endless support for Israel's genocide in Palestine.
Incredibly, Biden's support for genocide is one of the few things about which he can still string a reasonably coherent sentence together.
And he loves to spend my money on this effort. Yes, Thee unfortunate Optimist has been a net taxpayer consistently for many decades, and in order to stay out of jail, he gets to look on in horror at what the government spends his money on.
So yeah, Trump.
He can't possibly be this bad, can he? We already had him for four years, and while he said and did a lot of stupid things during that time, his support for wars was noticeably lacking.
Also, he likes middle-aged, heterosexual white men, of which Thee Optimist is one. Or maybe he doesn't. But that seems to be most of his fan base.
If Thee Optimist were to secretly infiltrate a Trump rally, no one would notice him. Except he would be more likely to wear a Black Sabbath t-shirt instead of the red, white, and blue.
As mentioned much earlier, it's illegal to wear the American flag.
But Trump got shot, and now I can't vote for him. And I won't be attending any Trump rallies.
Why? Because he looks weak to me.

Old, Weak Men
You don't have to be Stephen Hawking to notice that the United States has entered a period of terminal decline.
Men who stormed the beaches and kicked Hitler all over Europe openly weep when they reflect on the state of America today.
One obvious indication of our tailspin is the sclerotic condition of our politics.
We have two men, both very old, neither one particularly bright, neither one heroic at all (in fact, each one venal and corrupt in his own way), and both suffering from obvious cognitive decline.
I would have picked the less weaker of the two, but he seems pathetic to me now. Just look at this poor bastard:
Old, decrepit, bloodied, vacant, hanging on for dear life. He looks like he's going to cry.
If he hadn't been shot moments before, I would have said just take him out back and...
Yeah, no. I would never say such a thing. Not ever.
Now, some will ask, "What about that whole Iwo Jima looking photo with Trump raising his fist in the air in defiance?"
Staged. The photo was staged.
It was a moon landing of a photo.
Trump is in constant contact with his handlers. Someone whispered to him, "Raise your fist in the air."
He's a senile old man. Even in the best circumstances, he has no idea what's going on much of the time. In the aftermath of getting tagged by a bullet to the head, he was completely lost.
Some campaign sharpie saw an opportunity, told him to do something, so he robotically did it.
The truth is, Trump is fading now. Polls should begin to demonstrate this in the WEAKs ahead.
We like strong leaders around here. The kind who don't get shot.
So who will Thee Optimist vote for?
Good question!
I don't know.
Maybe a dog, or a cat.
